Who can apply for a card? Anyone can apply for a Keep Safe card. If the person is under 16 a parent or guardian will need to agree to the application.

Is there any cost? The Keep Safe card is free.

What if I lose my card or I need to change my registered details? You do not need to complete another application form. Please email to send a new card request or change of details to keepsafecard@northants.pnn.police.uk

When can I use my card? People may use their card to ask for help if they are lost, are taken ill, need to report a crime or simply need to have someone call their emergency contacts. You should always carry the Keep Safe card with you when you go out. If you need help you can show the card to someone who can help you. This should be someone you trust. A video below shows some examples of scenarios when someone may use their card. It also gives some examples of hate crimes, which we would always urge people to report if they have experienced any abuse when out in public. You can report a hate crime and any other types of crime to Northamptonshire Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Who can see the information I provide on the application form? When a person registers for the scheme the information they provide is also held on a secure database. This is only accessed by the partner nominated to hold the information and the three emergency services; Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service. The nominated partner selected on the form will be the only other organisation that sees the information. They will process the application, provide the Keep Safe card and carry out a yearly audit to ensure the person’s details are still correct. You can find out more about the use of the information provided by clicking here to see the privacy statement.

Smaller version of the Keep Safe card

Some people have told us that they would find a card useful, but do not want one that holds as much as information as the standard Keep Safe card. Here are some link to other types of card, some do have a cost to them.
